The World's Original Marmalade Awards and Festival 2012 to be held in
conjunction with the
first ever National Marmalade Week, 25th February - 3rd March and we are
proud to be a main sponsor of this annual event.
Now Christmas is over we can relax until the next main food celebration, the arrival of
Seville oranges from Spain and the wonderfully frantic few weeks of marmalade making.
Over the weekend of February 25-26th Dalemain Mansion, in Cumbria will be filled with the wonderful
aroma of sweet marmalade as it toasts the entries, and subsequent winners, of the Marmalade Awards, the
event held in the heart of the Seville orange season featuring demonstrations, workshops, guest
appearances (Paddington Bear no less) and much much more.
We will be hosting a feast of events too, and inside their marquee will be a "hands on" Marmalade School, demonstrations,
recipes and lots of advice. Pam Corbin and Rachel Green have very kindly offered to lend a hand too . . . well the Marmalade
won't stir itself!!.
Last year saw over 1,200 entries, from across the globe, the winner being "crowned" the world's Best Marmalade Maker! Could it
be you this year?. There are plenty of categories for you to enter, including two brand new ones, Heritage and
the Novice Category sponsored by Jam Jar Shop . . . "So don't be shy, give it a try"!!!!
The festival will once again raise funds, and awareness for Hospice at Home, Carlisle and North Lakeland, a truly wonderful
cause allowing care to be given to those that wish to remain in the familiar surroundings of their own homes.
Closing dates for the entries, plus all other information, including entry forms, can be
found on the
Marmalade Awards website »
And if you need any help with your marmalade making quest then look no further . . .
