have been looking for a reliable jam thermometer but many reviews online about this kind of thermometer complain of it not reaching correct temperatures to set jam accurately and the numbers rubbing off on washing. have you had any problems like this

I don't use a thermometer myself as I use 'the crinkle test!' We had some problems with the numbers but changed our supplier and as far as I know these are fine
